And we’re back! After a fun-packed, sunshine-filled trip through Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg with Minnie Dlamini and Jonathan Boynton Lee– we can successfully say, we have found what we’re looking for.

With over 3 million entries for the Tropika Island of Paradise, we had a BIG task to complete. And that was to interview as many hopeful candidates as possible so that we could choose the right people to pair up with our famous celebs for the ultimate prize of 1 million rand.

The roadshow was a huge hit and we owe that success to all of our contestants who came out far and wide to hang with us. So here’s to you. And here’s to bringing the rest of South Africa the smooothest reality show, because it’s almost game time. Hello Paradise!!

South Africa fell in love with her positive spirit and vivacious personality when she hosted Mzansi Insider and Soccer Zone.

Dlamini also embraces real beauty and empowers young women through the Minnie Dlamini Foundation that seeks to empower, grow and develop young women.

Jonathan Boynton-Lee

About Jonathan:

King of reality television, this all round winner has stolen the hearts of millions of South Africans with his charm, good looks, wit and humble nature. Jonathan made history as the first person in SA to win two prime time reality shows after being chosen as the winner of Top Billing Presenter Search in 2012 and the winner Strictly Come Dancing Season 7.

His claim to fame can be traced back to being 2015’s You Spectacular award winner for favourite TV presenter and sexiest man. A man of many talents, Jonathan is a writer, actor and director who was also noticed for his hunky good looks and voted Cosmopolitan SA sexiest man in 2014.

In his spare time, he loves the rush of extreme sports and can be found free diving with sharks to create awareness for their conservation.

Zakeeya Patel

About Zakeeya:

South African beauty, actor and presenter, Zakeeya is determined to do it all with her fearless attitude and bubbly personality.

Zakeeya first caught our eye with her incredible acting talent on The Wild as the saucy Amita Kahn, followed by her performance in SABC3’s High Rollers as the quirky Dhanny.

From the big screen to ballroom dancing, Zakeeya was the winner of Strictly Come Dancing Season 6 where her dancing moves earned her full scores and the mirror ball trophy.

Currently she has us all tuned in daily to Isidingo on SABC 3 where she plays the role of the gutsy and hot-blooded Samantha Sharma. She is also a presenter on SABC 3’s eastern lifestyle and entertainment show, Mela.”

About Emtee:

South African hip hop musician and record producer, Mthembeni Ndevu, is a music legend and the man behind the debut hit single… “Roll Up”.

In the first grade, young Emtee had a dream to become a celebrated musician. And he did. At the mere age of 9, he took to the stage for the first time at a Yeoville Primary School Talent Competition and he only grew from there. We were first introduced to him when he debuted the hit single ‘Roll Up’. Currently, EmTee is signed under vibey recording label, Ambitiouz Entertainment and nominated for a BET Award in 2016.His album, Avery, was named after his son.

He won his first award at SAHHA’s followed by a Metro FM Music Award in 2015 for song of the year. To date he has won 4 Metro FM Music Awards, 2 SAMA’s and 1 SAHHA. In his first year he had garned 7 awards as well as being nominated for a BET award.

Anga NaakMusiQ

About Anga:

South African actor, model and singer, Anga, AKA NaakMusiQ, is well loved for his humble personality, sporty physique and contagious smile. Born in Port Elizabeth, Anga received a sports bursary from Edenvale High and still loves to partake in rugby, athletics and soccer.

He made his first TV appearance as MJ in the South African soapie – Generations. With the soapie being one of the biggest in the country, his fame grew at lightning pace as there was no way anybody could miss him. He is currently on SABC3’s Isidingo.

During his music career, Anga has performed with South African music giants such as Euphinok, DJ Fresh, Lulo Café and Mo Flava. He was the lead singer on 2014 smash hit ‘Call out’ with DJ Fisherman.He continues to grace our small screens on TV shows such as Z’bondiwe and iGazi.

Jessica Nkosi

Born in KwaZulu Natal, Jess is best known for her character on Mzansi Magic’s Isibaya as Qondi AKA Ndlovukazi where she plays a queen, the wife of TV heavyweight Vusi Kunene.

She was also on Vuzu Amp’s ‘Ayeye’ as Eve.

Siv Ngesi

About Siv:

Born to perform, Sivuyile Ngesi, also known as Siv, is one seriously multi-talented guy who has the world at his feet.

Siv has stolen the limelight and wowed South Africa as a comedian, singer, dancer, presenter and actor.

His first pro-acting career was in 1997 in ‘The Adventures of Sinbad’. You can catch Siv in action on SABC 3’s ‘The Man Cave’ where he co-presents with DJ Warras, Lunga, and Janez. He speaks fluent Xhosa and English. Siv also played alongside Kiefer Sutherland in 24. He also has numerous performances all over the world.

Karlien Van Jaarsveld

Claim to Fame:Winner of Strictly Come Dancing Season 8. Her song ‘My hartjie’ reached gold status.

About Karlien:

Loving, caring, and drop-dead gorgeous, our home-grown Karlien is a passionate singer and actress with a heart of gold. Born in Paarl, Karien is the much-loved winner of Strictly Come Dancing Season 8. A fashionista, Karlien always leaves the house looking like a million bucks. Her album reached gold status within the first week of release.

Karlien has a total of 3 albums, all of which have gone platinum. She has garnered numerous awards including 2 SAMA awards, 7 Ghoema awards as well as 6 Tempo awards just to name a few.

Recently, she moved everyone to tears when she performed a show for a young cancer patient where the profits were donated towards the child’s medical bills – showing the world the size of her compassion.

Maurice Paige

We were first introduced to this eye candy in 2007 when he landed the role of Calvin Xavier on SABC 3’s Isidingo. He is 10th on the list of sexiest hunks internationally for Cosmopolitan Magazine as well as a multi-award winning actor in theatre.

Maurice also is a SAFTA nominated actor for best performance and won You Spectacular for best supporting actor. Maurice is Golden Horn nominee for Best supporting actor in a TV soap. He also hopes for a music career soon, particularly hip-hop, seeing as he is a hip-hop fanatic. He worked in theatre, starring in Platform 9 and Winsome.Maurice was in South Africa’s first dance film ‘Pop, Lock ‘n Roll’, where he showcased his love for dancing.

Maurice’s claim to fame can be traced back to when he started his television career with an Engen advert, thereafter the M-net series Orion as supporting cast and finally an apperance in the movie Dollars and White Pipes, ultimately staring in Isidingo today.
