Mexico meets BIG flava and BIG memories.
Bring it on in memorable Mexico.
That’s how all our entrants, including both celebrities and everyday contestants, felt as they held thumbs in hopes of being chosen as 1 of the 14 smoooth contestants for the Tropika Island of Treasure Season 4.
The seven celebrities included the likes of Tracy McGregor and Joelle Kayembe, club and radio personality DJ Zinhle, hiphop artist Slikour, 5FM DJ Poppy Ntshongwana, presenter Phila Mazibuko, and comedian Tshepo Mogale.
They were joined by seven contestants from all over SA: aspiring musician Nolan Jonathan, nursery school teacher Stacey Swanepoel, project administrator Roxana Swanlow, self-employed Ajive Suknandan, production manager Lucinda Human, clerk Kgabo Mpati from Thembisa, and financial consultant Ross Jordaan.
The 14 contestants got their game on in the energetic city of Cancún – notorious for its reputation as the playground of the rich and famous. All were lucky to live the high life, and at the same time, compete for the big prize of R1 million.
The lively bunch gave it their all by battling it out each week in exhilarating yet challenging games such as the Yucatan Stocking tug-of-war and the Mayan soccer sacrifice, with the losing contestant being eliminated in each show.
“I feel like a million bucks,” said the winner of the fourth season of Tropika Island of Treasure: Nolan Jonathan, South African musician and composer.
With Hurricane Rina making her debut on the show, we were literally blown away by a fun-filled season that celebrated new friendships and enthralled viewers from beginning to end.
